I read a few how to's and it's pretty much clean and spray in thin coats. Spray a thin coat, wait 15 or so minutes turn it the other way and spray it again. Then one more time just to make sure there are no thin spots. Wait 12 hours and it's done. Apparently it will soften the plastic a bit till it cures so I wouldn't lean it on anything. The middle dash section should just pop out. You have to pry it out. Try removing the two small trim pieces by the stereo. Just be careful not to damage the surrounding plastic.

that pretty much says it all, make sure you have a good area to paint in. lots of light coats and I do recommend doing a few coats of clear as well. Besides that be creative and mask different things off, and try two toning things........

If any of you are interested I went ahead and painted the gauge rings a aluminum "look" and they turned out rather nice. I didnt feel like paying 68$ for the rings...thats friggin nuts!!! I posted pics on my cardomain site. I also sprayed the hood that goes over the gauges(was grey made is black). I used krylons vinyl and carpet dye/paint, it worked well.

Nope, I wanted to keep the flat vinyl look for the hood part, and the silver had somewhat of a shine. It doesnt need it IMO, the guage rings wont get handled enough to put that extra clear on.

yeah id prob. clear the handles since they will be "handled" alot(no pun intended ;D ) Yeah the Krylon vinyl/carpet paint worked and looks great. You cant tell the difference between the stock black pieces and the hood piece that I painted, its a spot on! The gauge rings look really good as well, just enough metallic flake, and shine w/out looking gaudy.

;D my leds should becoming this tomorrow or thurs...still debating how to do the interior....painting and clearing can still chip but color would be the one i want...with the dye because of the stuff being black im afraid that a bright red would come out like i want it.....(but with the new kits coming out i might just put money towards that. check out the new bodykit thread in the R&D section)

The stuff from autozone worked great for me and matched my color Is your car blue? And if so what was the color and brand you got from auto zone. I'm pretty sure I'm gonna do this. This will be the first thing I've wanted to do to the car that I will probably actually do.
