was it difficult to get the dash out? would doing anything to the interior mess up the warranty? and how do you get the half circle panels off the doors?

Would scuffing the plastic remove the grain?

Denis what you are looking for is called "Vinyl Dye" Although it looks and is applied like paint, it is not. Vinyl dye actually is a special kind of paint that "seeps" into the plastic causing the color change instead of putting layers of color on which when done in many coats will eventually effect the texture of the panel. This also means it will never crack or chip as well. Vinyl Dye is to be applied in very very light coats. DO NOT cover in one coat!!!
Vinyl Dye will allow you to paint your panels without sanding them, though it is recommended to clean them of any dirt, oil, etc. before applying. Beware though the stuff is rather expensive and can be around $25 US dollars for a rattle spray can. I believe a company called "SEM" makes Vinyl Dye if I'm not mistaken.
EDIT: Also it should be noted that if you are Dying a dark colored panel to say a light colored panel like "Yellow" you should dye it white first, and then yellow, or else the yellow would mix with the dark color giving you an undesired color.
Good Luck

Excellent advice. I totally forgot about vinyl dye, good call. I used this stuff in another vehicle and it works and looks great.

I can see yours and several others that I've checked but Blades seem to be gone. I did notice that yesterday the whole site was down for maintenance but today seems to be fine. Maybe it's not totally up, dunno.

So, anyway, anyone know a good source for the right colors of this vinyl dye? I've been looking online and it seems a lot of computer moders use it to change the color of their cases and disk drives. It seems easy to use. I'd give it a try if I can find the right color. I also assume there is no gloss to it so if I decided to do this and wanted a little shine on it, what would anyone recommend?
I'm thinking of tracking down some extra trim pieces to try it out on before I spray my nuts.
Yes I know it changes the word sh*t to nuts but I thought it was funny.

One of my friends used vinyl dye on 2 of his cars with excellent results. He just used the cheap stuff from Canadian Tire and it turned out perfect. I'm sure your Autozone would have something decent for pretty cheap too.

If your worried about a shine...the dye on the plastic is the same as if it was untouched. if you want a shine use armor-all.
