question for people running H&R's

Yes there are dead coils on the h&r's, about half of them are....the manual told me about them as well as when I saw them...I am very impressed with the handling of them as well as the comfort ... Very well balanced!

ok sweet! cause dead coils can be cut without the suspension getting messed up because they are just there to add height so you get a certain amount of drop.
i am gonna cut my H&R's cause i know it wont be low enough, and i want my 16"s to tuck like aveo05hotrod's and nemasys.

Hi everyone,

I'm new here and I'm glad I find out this forum !
I have a Chevrolet Kalos "hatch back" in the familly and recently I've ordered a H&R suspension for it.
My question is, if the OEM shock absorbers do work ok with the H&R lowering springs ?

I'm also about to put a strutbar on it - once I have them all installed I'll post some pics.

Beside that I'll have 6,5Jx15 ET43 wheels (yes, no bigger wheels we have bad roads over here) - do you think I'll be ok (regarding rubbing or others ...) with them and H&R springs ?

Something else, I was thinking to buy this strutbar :

What do you think about it ? It uses only 2 screws at one end, is this ok ?
Is this a correct setup ?
Shouldn't this be connected to the suspension struts towers too ?

hey dinoc, if those wheels are 43+ which i'm guessing they are, you will be fine, you could go a couple inches lower then the H&R's and still be okay with 15x6.5 wheels, as long as you dont run a 60 or 70 series sidewall

The winter tire will be 185/55 R15 (this is the OEM size for our '06 Kalos models).
For the summer I'll use 195/50 R15.

Anyway I've ordered the H&R springs and the following strutbar:

two bolts is all you can really do because our car was not setup or meant to be modified to have a strut bar

[offtopic] Thanks Sam, speaking about the strutbar, does it worth it ? Did you feel a ride improvement ?
So those two unused holes (where the strutbar will bolt on) , what are they designed for, if not a strutbar (just wondering) ?

i dont know but its the strut area wasnt designed for a proper strut bar....mine has gotten rid of some of the noise coming for the suspension, which use to sound like it came from movement of the struts....so it works to the best of its abilities

i think those holes were made foar a possible strut bar.
i have the same configuration as dinu and i'm waiting for the parts to come. hope it will be a better ride after this.
i'm also considering a better swaybar and joints for it. do you have any ideea where to get that at a reasonably price?

it would be best to leave the front swaybar that size, but you can get polyurethane ground brushings from summitracing.com....there is a thread in this category somewhere on the part number....i bought a pair but havent gotten the urge to want to put them on.....but for sway bars the front is a good size but what the car needs is for someone to make one for the rear since the torsion beam setup isnt enough...cars like that xa, yaris, fit,etc. are good examples of how to make one.
