i think those holes were made foar a possible strut bar. Doubt it, as Aveosam said. I think it just so happens to have room to design something. For maximum strut tower support, proper strut bars need to be secured through the top of the strut itself through the mounts. In most cases for Macpherson strut cars, there are three bolts that mount the strut to the tower, but the aveo is weird. Anyways, securing the strut bar through the top of the strut itself isolates it from the chassis, so to speak, so the strut bar is preventing movement of the top of the struts directly, instead of a bar preventing just the metal of the towers from moving, which in turn holds the top of the strut from moving. The latter is inherently structurally weak because you're relying on the sheet metal between the bar and the strut from not flexing, and you'll definitely need some sort of reinforcement. I sure hope that the Aveosummit bar has some sort of mounting plate underneath and it's not just the 2 bolts and some washers.

i doubt there is a mounting plate underneath because there is hardly room underneath to get ur hand in there to tighten the bolts....atleast from personal experience with mine

Sam, if I understood correctly, have you got rid of your strutbar ? mtlswift I'm not sure I understood you, do you think that strtubar I order is not good enough for Aveo, I mean that is not respecting the principles of a good strutbar ? Should the strutbar pe connected to the suspension also ?

Should the strutbar pe connected to the suspension also ? Mounting the strut bar in those two empty holes is probably good enough for the Aveo, but for the strongest design, it's better to actually support the top of the struts themselves and not just the towers. Actually, I'd be interested to see what the Canadian Rally Suzuki Swift has done wrt suspension stiffening...

Well, i think that that strut brace will do some good because there is an unbelievable amount of body twist and flex in the aveo. im going to order it just to tide me over until i fully cage it out and drop 10psi of boost and NOS in it!!!!
