I'll hit up my local parts counter on my way home, currently the rear bounces around like a woman.... nevermind I won't finish that statement.

I wonder if we bust their chops enough that it will go through faster lol so is that the part number for the rear shocks and struts?

The rear has shocks and yes that's the part number. Problem is no one lists it so it's still a battle to get them. I went to Pep Boys today and they had the number in the system but couldn't sell me the shocks. I'll check around and let you guys know where I get them and how much I pay.

I got a good response from Tire Rack, these things are CHEAP. I think I'm going to get them in a couple of weeks, I'm a little spent right now with the track day.
Hi Chad, We can get those for the Aveo. They are $31 apiece. They have to be ordered so it'll be about two weeks to get you some. Let me know when you are ready to order. We can only get the rear pads now, the Akebono Pro-Act Ceramic pads for $61. Kindly, Justin

Almost too cheap, why are these so cheap? They are just OEM replacements right? Or are they an upgrade?

Almost too cheap, why are these so cheap? They are just OEM replacements right? Or are they an upgrade? They are an OEM replacement, but KYB builds an inexpensive quality shock which by default makes it an upgrade. Shocks are also cheaper than struts. Expect the struts to be around 60-70.

The KYBs are built tough and have a lifetime guarentee (within reason). The GR2s can more than handle lowering. Expect a GR2 to last as long or longer, even when lowered, as a stock strut/shock.
If you think lowering your car gave you a stiffer and flatter ride, wait until you pair lowering springs with some KYBs. You'll be giving Miatas a run for their money.

I agree. I went through two sets of kyb br2's on my impreza. The first set held up for about 90k or so. Realize i towed a trailer at least a few times a month with the car, autocrossed it and rallycrossed it so I was pretty tough on the struts. I am very much looking forward to getting some rear shocks on the aveo, i'll take pics when they are installed.
