You should be fine using stock internals with the kit. However, if you want to run anything more than 9 lbs of boost, that's when we suggest you upgrade at least your pistons and rods.
The clutch is something that we suggest upgrading with boost, and the ignition will also help (but it's not required).
Thanks!

Hey guys I am new to the site and I just got my turbo kit from maximumboot and will be starting the install and document the process. I have to tell you the kit looks very complete I opt for the intercooler upgrade. I will post pics as I start the install.

I would suggest that any turbo install is accompanied by an aftermarket ignition system.... otherwise you risk spark knock and detonation. See: Above.

Some guys asked about return lines and FMU's the I think the best way to get away from running a return line and messing with the stock setup is to use a digital FMU. They are programable based on boost.
Regards 8-)

There are a number of possibilities that could have killed that engine including wrong ignition timing, lean a/f ( I assume he was using a "wet" Nitrous kit ). I had talked to him about this, he was using a dry system Sorry for the off topic.... but if he was running a dry system with that much NOS... he deserved to blow the engine.

Returnless fuel system is fine for this kind of horsepower..... most SRT4 guys don't convert to the return system until they pass 400whp.
Fuel pumps are easily upgraded.....as well as injectors.
Just keep in mind this is a low boost application..... your stock engine management might be able to keep up just fine without any serious modifications or additional hardware (such as SAFC II or piggy back like SMT6 )
Many of the returnless systems have setups where the fuel pump is "pulsed" or given a variable voltage..... to increase pressure you simply have to adjust the number of pulses ( duty cycle ) or increase voltage.
MSD makes a system which can increase voltage going into the fuel system.... most fuel pumps will crank out atleast 20% more fuel..... but keep in mind it does decrease the life of the pump.
If I get around to it I will check into the returnless system in the Aveo..... I'd imagine it's the same as my Optra.

About the clutch..... check out the Mantapart link I gave.... they have a nice light flywheel and heavy duty "street" clutch setup.
Alternatively... purchase a Lemans flywheel and simply throw on their $275 clutch setup.
Even if you just upgraded the pressure plate it would help out quite a bit.
Just keep in mind that the Lemans is a flat style of flywheel (which is very light ) and for some reason I thing the Aveo has a heavier "pot" style flywheel like my Optra.
Changing from the heavy "pot" type clutch to the flat clutch will make the engine sing..... it's a billion times better.... I've allready ordered my new 6 paddle clutch and 1200lb pressure plate for my Optra (which will get the flat style flywheel )
Again.... sorry for the additional info..... it's just that people should be aware that additional modifications (such as clutch ) are a very good idea (which has allready been said a couple times)

No problem..... I was a little disappointed at the lack of forward movement by the Aveo guys.... so..... I figured I'd stir the pot a bit.
The more companies out there ( like maximumboost ) the better chance we all have of getting some significant aftermarket support in North America.

Why can't we get a video or pics of an Aveo with this kit. What happened to the test vehicle. That's why no one is jumping on it. You need to show us the aveo with this kit on it. Show it running, show a dyno run. Something. Most people don't show interest when you just put some parts on a blanket and take a picture. Then call it a turbo kit for a car. People want to see it running. Thats how you will get more interest. ;D

There is a gas station about 30 minutes from my place (Sunoco). They sell 94 octane fuel (called Ultra 94) I think it would be a good fuel to run with the turbo setup, should help to reduce detonation and knock. Correct me if i am wrong.
