i want to chime in with a question. Think I can run 4psi of boost without using an intercooler or any fuel mods except fuel pump and pressure regulator? As long as I use an FMU and 91octane? And of course go colder plug and retard the timing a bit.
I'm not looking to add a lot of power, just maybe enough to get me to about 120whp since im going to be using a full exhaust, CAI, and MSD

Speed kills, but you get there faster!

Thats what i was thinking also... if that would be possible to run 4-5 psi just enough to really fell a nice difference without modding the rest of the engine/fuel system.
I wonder if just slapping a turbo kit on there with low boost might work... would be nice to have tho

so we both don't know then!
i want to go with no intercooler for a few reasons. Less money, less weight, less piping. But I'm concerned about detonation because of our somewhat high compression, but since it'll be low boost...

maybe i need to ask more people.... the 2nd gen probe has the same compression as our cars, so maybe they can help

just need to get a diesel. knocksensor, EGT sensor, and you're good to go... "Oh, it's knocking... time to turn down the boost"... gas: "Oh, it's knocking... time to replace the valves and maybe the pistons"

The aveo already has a knock sensor, All OBD2 vehicles have them

? I'm posting is why would you go through all the trouble of spending at minimum 1000-1200 to put boost on your car and not do it right and only gain 15 HP? It's a waste. If your gonna do it do it right.

if im going to boost my car, i will go with superchargers, caz you get power though the wholl RPM range, and there is no torbo-leg. why do you guys want turbos insted of superchargers? I feel you....still working on getting a hold of a supercharger that fits or can be modified to fit..I will keep you posted, we can be the charged twins(lol)

Superchargers are ineffecient. Buy my turbo kit, skip the hassle and do it right.

not if your supercharger is tuned to the engine then the power gain is bigger then the lose...plus no lag...
