HI all Brand-new here to the board and I have a story to share with you peeps about my first Aveo experience...
I recently took a trip to Seattle, WA with my friend Jason in his 2005 Aveo LS adn we took I-90 from So. Dakota thru to Seattle, and let me tell you, I am definitely gonna buy one!!! I couldn't believe how nimble and quick that little car was coming down thru the mountains in Idaho. And very fuel-efficient...we averaged 45 MPG at 80-85MPH coming thru the mountains, so we musta done something right.
If this isn't a testament to the reliability of this car, then I dunno what is!!

45 MPG I think you need to reconfigure your numbers, unless you were crusing down hill the whole time LOL

Yeah man theres no way you would get that fuel milage in the mountains doing 80-85mph. But it would still get good milage and this car will keep givin! I currently have 72,000km on my swift and drive the piss out of it daily and it seems to acknowlegde what I feel it would like to be doing. GO IMBRED DAEWOO!!

If that was 45km/gal I might believe it.
I drive moderately with no fast take-offs and mostly highway at 60-70 mph and I'm lucky to squeeze out 32mpg. On longer trips over the warmer months, I've seen a few miles per gallon better than that.

My 2005, 5-speed, 5 door has averaged 33.2 MPG for over 11000 miles, mostly to/from work and around town. Best trip mileage was 39 MPG. Wife can only get 29 MPG when she drives it around town. I recall a trip we made to the Rocky Mountains. We were driving a 2.5L 4, 3 speed auto, 88 Plymouth Voyager. In the mountains, they sold a lower octane gas (like 85 versus 87) and we got the best MPG on that tank full (like 25 MPG versus our normal 22). How does that make any sense?

Because lower octane gas will ignite easier under pressure than a higher octane. so it was less work for your engine to ignite the fuel. In turn freeing power from the engine, uses less gas
