Well was out driving tonight and a late model eclipse(98 or 99) all riced out with wing and exhaust and gutter guard mesh all over pulls up next to my at the light. The idiot starts reving his engine, I didn't think I could take him. But light turns green and he goes. I didn't really get into it untill about 3k rmp's. I thought what the hell. So I gun it up untill 3rd gear. Waxed him. Next we get on the highway, poor boy couldn't even catch up. All I have is a true CAI, new muffler( can style) and the intake sensor mod. So I'm happy, maybe get a little more respect for the Aveo.

LOL.... way to go. ;D The Aveo is very peppy!
btw - what's up with the intake sensor mod? Haven't heard (or seen) that one yet. Got a URL?

The guy doesnt know how to drive...or his car is messed up...I have an Aveo and I have a Neon(wich is pretty much the same as an eclipse) and theres no way an Aveo could ''under normal circumstance'' beat an eclipse...and the inatke sensor mods is probably a resistance placed instead of the oxygen sensor of the intake so that the computer always have the signal he wants

it's basically called a chocochip or something. you need to put a CAI and a better flowing muffler before doing this or you will get a check engine light. it adds more fuel, so if you don't improve flow you just end up making the mixture too rich. go to radio shack and get a pack of resistors. 10k ohms 1/4 watt . wire 2 resistors in line so it equals 20k ohms. wrap the resistors in electro tape but leave a little on each end exposed. unplug your intake sensor on the intake tube and plug in the resistors. the wrap the end of the plug in electro tape. WHATEVER YOU DO DON"T LET THE RESISTOR SHORT OUT OR YOU WILL FRY YOUR ECU!
P =-----10k--l L l U =-----10k--l G You will notice the difference. maybe like a 3 to 5 HP gain, but only with a CAI and a less restrictive muffler

1st off, I've been driving for 14 years, how long have u? 2nd there is no such thing as an oxygen sensor in the intake. there is a Air Temperature Sensor that measures the temp of air coming in to the intake. Yes I did wire in a fixed resistor to feed more fuel. Plus it does adjust the timing a slight bit. The daewoo guys have been doing it for years. 3rd it was a bottom line ricer eclispe, not a 4 wheel drive or turbo. Also since when is a neon anything like a eclipse. Neons are sh!ty unless it is a SRT-4. I know 3 people that have had neons. They are pieces of junk! By the way your oxygen sensor ( the aveo has 2, so you know) is in the exhaust. On the aveo 1 before and 1 after the cat.

Ive been driving for 2 years but I do have my mechanics class...I just messed the sensor name...dont sh!t on me for that....and for the neons they are same platform same engine than eclipse/talon...and even my overweighted DOHC Neon has lot more more power than the aveo

Come on, guys....let's not hassle over the small stuff. As for me - I've been driving for 28 years +. And, fortunately, I've never had a 'love affair' with vehicles. I mean, IMO, they are just machines.... All they are is a means to get from point A to point B. I look for vehicles that will do that job efficiently, in reasonable comfort as cheaply as reasonably possible. For me, the Chevrolet Aveo fills this bill with panache.
I've very bad knees so most cheap cars are out because you have to step down into the seat and step up out of it. The Aveo, with its height and chair seating means I can step straight out and in. What a relief! And it doesn't hurt that it is unusual and good looking.

Hey! Now aint that the truth! I work 4 10-hour days so get 3 day weekend. Had just been thinking (after rereading my post) the last car I owned as easy to enter/exit (and as fun to drive) was the old VW Beetle from my youth.
