caps are pretty much worthless so i wouldnt use it. if you figure, the cap sends out that bit of power for the big hits but then it is still using your alternator to charge back up afterwards. so its not really helping at all. I would upgrade your battery if you dont want dim lights or alternator, or both. for the loss in sound i really dont know, are you running separate rcas for both amps? watch your amp, is it shutting off or is the light blinking when the subs hit hard, if so i would say their is something off with power wire or ground. what are you grounded to?

the sub amp is hook up by rca but the other amp hook up with all 16 gauge wire expect power coming from the deck wires since my deck and iam on a really good ground i grounded it to the ankor in the back of the hatch

Do you have any bass blockers or a crossover on the system? Also a deep cycle battery(optima) or even a batcap will help with the headlight dim. Also try connecting the second amp through a power distribution block rather then your head unit, your second amp is probably drawing too much current which is causing your music to clip when you hit low frequencies in the music...holla back

the amps are hook up thru power distrubiton block only thing that iam thinking is maybe i might have to hook the remote wire thru a distrubition block and i only have a low pass over thru the deck to block hi freq going to the subs as u can see the 600 Watt amp isnt hook up rca but is hook up thru the speakers wires because my deck only has 2 rcas out one for fronts and rear also another reason it hook up that way is to allow the amp to be used for highs instead of subs since it has a hi passover in the amp but it only can be used if u use pioneer supiod wire connector this is how the system hook up

If you add bass blockers to your set-up you can avoid the clipping also if you change decks to one that has an rca out for the subwoofer, might eliminate some of your headaches. If the light dimming continues after the head unit swap you might want to invest in a batcap(a lil expensive) but well worth the results, can elimanate the need for a second battery....
