Ok guys, lets talk sound.
This is my current setup: - Stock AM/FM/CD/MP3 player - Pioneer for Front Door with Foam Baffles - Pioneer for Rear Deck
I am not looking to replace the head unit yet. I love the mp3 option and dont have the money to upgrade it, so thats not an option. I am looking for a good Amp and sub (or powered sub).
Amp wise, I want something I can use to boost power to all 4 speakers, and have control over the frequency of the bass and treble and stuff that comes through the full range speakers.
Subs can be non-powered, but I have no knowledge of amps and subs. If I get a powered one, such as the Sirius Radio one ( ) how would this work with the stock unit? Finally, Powered or Non-Powered, how to you recommend to face the sub to get the most out of it in the trunk?

Well thats the thing. I would like to know what I can do to ENHANCE the stock system. I have the old pioneer that was in my Silverado, but that is so outdated and many new GM-Fit Pioneer systems are expensive and limited to the same system I have. None have MP3 capability, and many woont work with an iPod adapter. Thats why I was asking for ideas.

to hook up an amp, you can use a high level converter. It takes the speaker terminals from your stock stereo and converts them to rca. heres an example, www.etronics.com/product.asp?stk_code=pyrns60you might want to find a better one though. Then you can hook up and amp. These have pretty good quality and will do until some day when you get an aftermarket head unit. If you dont want to do that, just buy an aftermarket head unit, you can get a pioneer really cheap that will play mp3s. My pioneer plays them and it cost me 90 bucks at walmart.(and there were cheaper ones there)

I have installed already 4" Kappas up front 4x6 Kappa Plates In the rear They sounded awesome with just 40w running to them with my old school PG amp. Cant wait to through 100+ watts at them!

As of right now I have a 12" Xtant sub and profile amp which adds some bass, but I bought both off a friend for only $20. As soon as I save some more $$ I plan on getting a 12" Infinity Perfect and an Infinity 611a mono amp(456 @ 4 ohm/657 @ 2 ohm)

that sounds awesome. The infinity won't be the loudest sub(although it will be loud) but it will probably have the best sound quality for some clean bass.
