so yesterday i picked up a 2007 aveo 5 hatch, svm, bright blue. i think i'm kinda attached to the aveo cause i could have gotten a bunch of different cars but i kinda wanted another aveo. ;D. i still have my h&r springs, i never even installed them on my 05, so i'm gonna pop them on and start looking for a cool 16 inch wheel/tire package, maybe somthing from rota: slipstreams, gt3's, track r's, grids, or even j-mags. i'm trying to decide between colormatching, contrasting color( gold, red, white etc) or black. i also like the idea of some rota grids, black spokes with a matching blue lip, if you've ever seen that done before you know what i'm talking about whichever style and color i end up choosing, i am gonna do wheels and suspension first, then worry about performance, be in NA or Forced induction. oh and btw, it does seem to have crisper turn-in and less body roll then my 05.

if its your second aveo, you shuld of picked a LT, not a SVM i picked up an SVM because its lighter, and it has no A/C, so it has more room if i do turbo it. i dont like factory stereos, even my SVT focus with the audiophile system wasn't quite good enough. so if i end up putting in a upgraded stereo i'm gonna go with all new components.

i know how you are feeling but when i get an idea for modding a car i cant seem to get it out of my head till i try it.
i think any car has potential, even a yugo can be cool if modded right. the aveo has tons of potential and i am gonna prove it. people always say start with a better platform, but the scions, the fit and yaris are almost identical and people think its cool to modify one of those. i know its discouraging when nobody seems to pay attention to the aveo and nobody wants to make parts for it but that isnt gonna stop me. when guys started souping up hondas nobody made anything for them, it was home depot mods, pvc cold air intakes, cut springs, and parts from other cars that they modded to fit. and once the aftermarket saw that what these guys were doing worked, and more and more people were doing it, they started making products. and look where the import aftermarket is now.
we can't blame all these aftermarket companys for not making parts for the aveo, there isnt a market right now. if we want there to be a market we have to make the aveo marketable to the tuner crowd, make them want to get an aveo and soup it up, then we will see parts being made for it.

Hell Yeah!!! Finally someone else that understands the aftermarket industry. People didn't understand why I was putting so much effort into doing news things for the car, glad to see I'm not the only one pushing the envelope.
Feel free to hit me up anytime if you need any help. I got AIM, MSN, or email, check my profile.

i understand what your saying too...the car isnt the lost cause, its the people who own them...not enough support or money from the people who own them...there have been a few good group buys on here that have been shot down because of the lack of aveo owner support either for the lack of money or something else....of course everyone in the group buy thread will be like he l l yea i want one, when it comes time to get definite number of people or money, everyone dissappears....i like the aveo as my styling gas sipping ride...gets good looks from others
