I'm leasing a 2004 Aveo in a few weeks. I've always been an aoutomatic driver but am thinking of going manual...Any advice? I hear the Aveo's stick is kind of wobbly or something?

Yeah, I hear it's a bit rubbery. Frankly, I say go for the automatic. Strange as it sounds, the Aveo with auto gets better gas mileage than the stick! Even Consumer Report's latest issue confirms this. (I just finished reading it)

i have driven both, and that being said, go for the stick. its more fun, in most cars, and the aveo too. the auto IS nice, but the stick just give you that DRIVING feeling. just my 2 cents.

You can drive the Auto like a Manual tranny, and get spirited driving from your Aveo.

There's this Aveo hatch at a local dealership...everything I want...however...it's auto. Autos are gay. lol. The only auto I've ever liked is my Monte Carlo. But all of my "little cars" are manual. Much better. It does give you a "driving feel". You get more into the car and it's more fun. Rep the manual. C'mon...you know you wanna...

They designed the 4-speed autmatic to be driven like a manual transmission for those who want to get the most power out of there engine.
