Cutting a hole in your roof is risky business, but it has been done succesfully. Leaks can occur from the factory too! Maintenace is key. You should look for a reputable company to do it in your area and take it in for routine maintenance every year. I would lean away from this decision but it's not my choice is it? ;D On my previous car I did not have a sunroof. I was thinking about doing the same, but I wanted to have my sunroof sealed shut so no leaks would ever occur. When I thought about it, it seemed like a waste. Whats a sunroof for if you can't open it, right? So I steered clear and just made sure I got mone on my Forenza.

My reply is comming in late....I have to agree that it would be risky and lot of trouble and expensive too... as for the leaks problem...Im more aware of this possibility especially since I helped a friend making a ''T-top'' like roof on his civic...as for my personal opinion...a sunroof is only a gadget...I dont see the point of having one...I have one on my neon and I dont remember havin opened it once hehe...

I had a sunroof put into my 99 jetta wolfsburg after purchasing it... never had any problems with leaks, however the motor never worked right and had to be serviced about 3 times after the installation. I never had any experience with nonfactory sunroofs after this, but I don't think I would ever get one put in after the fact again.

Sunroofs = Bogus Everyone wants a sunroof...not sure why. When I first bought my Accord I loved the fact that it had a sunroof. But now I've had it for a year and I always keep it closed now. Unless you're small you can't even see it. All you get is a hot head in the summer...

I love my sunroof. I had one before in an old volvo and wish I got one on my Cavalier so when I got the Aveo LS I knew I wanted power windows and a sunroof.
