Do you have any contact info, or links to specs of his car? I'd like to know what suspension he's using.

It's pretty normal - especially for rally car production - to strip a car down to the bare metal chassis in order to remove all the undercoating(to reduce weight) and seam sealer.
Then the original welded seams of the chassis(which are normally only spot welded from the factory)can be stitch/seam welded to improve chassis ridgidity. Plus it makes it easier to install the rollcage & ensure it ties to the original structure in as many places as possible.
It also makes it easier to reinforce the suspension mounts with the car completely stripped down.
Building a rally car *right* requires a huge ammount of labor.

Well, I located the builders(Frank & Dan Sprongl of Four Star Motorsports)& asked about the suspension they're using. Here's their response:
"Hi
We are using Proflex for the cars, let me know if this is what you would be interested in.
These will cost about $5700 Cdn per car set.
This is for a Suzuki Swift Plus
Thanks"
It's not cheap, but I've been in a Proflex equipped Evo, and there's nothing better for rally.....not sure if the shock valving would be optimal for pavement motorsports, though.
