hey guys i was wondering, i know a few of you have taken the knob off there shifter, i was wondering if anyone happened to know the size of the shaft? i am trying to see what my options are for knobs, i dont want to go with a knob that has a plastic tube that you use a set screw to tighten it to the shaft. i was wondering if something like, a knob from honda or scion will fit. thanks

the aveo does not have a threaded shaft, the only way is to buy a knob that has the plastic insert or take your shifter out and take it to a machine shop and have them thread the end for you.

well that kinda sucks, but oh well. Who here is running an aftermarket knob? i used to have one on a galant and the little set screw would allways come lose, and the knob would allways turn. does anyone know how to remidy this? i was thinking of getting a nice universal knob, and then poutting some epoxy in it and then tightening it down.

You'd probably have to modify the reverse lockout knob to get a generic aftermarket knob to fit too.
