cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1-2-HALF-DIN-IN-DASH-MOTORIZED-LCD-TFT-7-TV-MONITOR_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ38650QQihZ005QQitemZ150049802716QQtcZphotoPyle PLTVD7.5N Sorry, I should have included a link and part number. Basically, my plan is to put this in the Aveo so we can hook a portable dvd player to it for some upcoming road trips. When funds are replenished in Dec or Jan, I'd like to complete the package with a dvd player which is capable of a vertical mount so I can install it easy in the Aveo and it also would need front RCA inputs and a front headphone jack. This would allow us to burn TV shows to disk for trips and if it's a wife only show, she could listen to the headphones and watch tv while I listen to some good trance mixes on the stereo. If it's a show we both like, I could use the integrated FM output on the screen to allow the sound through the car stereo. This setup would also be great on track days since I spend the night in the car to cut down on costs. The above link stated: This listing () has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number. If the listing was removed by eBay, consider it canceled. Note: Listings that have ended more than 90 days ago will no longer appear on eBay.The particular model you asked about ranges in price from $399 to $499

I'm sure $250 is very hard to beat, but if he does it all the time, then I figured why not give him a shot, I'd rather support a board member. In the end, the difference between $250 and $400 is quite a bit. I'll buy it at $250, but for $400 that's just too much $$$ for my pocketbook right now so soon after a $25,000 wedding.

subachad..the only difference between a mortgage and being married is that with a mortgage you make payments monthly...by being married you pay every day !!!

In addition, this months mortgage is a little harder to pay with the wedding... My check was only $500 on the 31st... fortunately I planned for that, only 3 work days on the check and very little vacation time since I just started this job about 5 months ago.

Sounds like $250 is too hard to beat! Like Kramer says "Only suckers pay retail!" Sorry, I do not carry that model , the models that I carry are in dash DVD/mp3/CD receivers with motorized screens 6.5"-7". I also carry a 7" touch screen. The model that you are looking at will require that you buy addition a/v equipment, since it is only a motorized monitor. The items that I carry only require the receiver with the possibility to add more a/v later.

Yeah, the reason I'm going with this model is, you can't remove the stock stereo in the RX8 since it also houses the HVAC controls. This model can be made to fit in the upper portion of the dash with slight modification and I can hide a separate dvd/mp3 player in the glove box. Also by keeping it separate, my wife could watch a DVD and plug in headphones while I listen to the radio on road trips. If I want to listen in on the movie, I could simply set to the car FM signal of the screen and do so.
Thanks for looking into this for me.

I think that a better investment would be a complete unit with the dvd/nav and monitor because the total cost of the unit seperately woudl cost more then an integrated system. No problem, I enjoy helping and offering assistance if asked.

You are mostly right, but I wouldn't be able to transfer a complete double din or even single din unit to my next car, hence going this route. I would be able to mount the dvd player in the glove box or whatever and the whole install would be stealth. I could even use a PS2 slim as my dvd player and have the added benefit of GT4!

Swapping a din or double din is just as easy as swapping headunits. ...imo...

In an Rx-8 you can't swap the head unit and since I plan on getting one after tax season, it wouldn't make sense to buy a double din deck now would it. There is an area above the dash where you modify to fit this half din deck, here's a link with another link inside. Clicking on the myspace video will show what the dash looks like and you'll see that you have to do a lot of work to get an aftermarket deck in there. Also, the stock stereo houses the HVAC controls and I'd really like a heater and A/C. www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=100652&highlight=pyle
