Okay,
I went to swap out my stock radio (am/fm) for a nice jensen I have and discovered that the radios are slightly smaller, so my jensen does not fit.
So here is my question. Is there a nice radio (complete with CD player) available that is a easy swap. I am okay with doing some soldering, I have the wire harness.
I just want to upgrade to a CD player. Does wal-mart have a inexpensive one?
Please direct me.

I have a Clarion MP3 player I bought for my Woo which only set me back $130. The dash kit and wire kit are maybe $40 with shipping from jcwhitney i think it is. I had the wire kit left over from the woo and I just googled the dash kit.
DO not install it without the wire kit, that's hack work.

Where is the best place to get everything I need? Is it best just to go to Bestbuy and have them install the whole thing? I rebuilt engine, and installed stereos in the past, but I dont want to do a whole lotta parts searching and then end up with a lousy install. One thing I did like about the Aveo was the dash was pretty atractive.

I would recommend Crutchfield. Although that is an online company and it will take a while to get the parts to your area (that actually depends), you do get more with your money. I ordered and installed a Pioneer DEH-5800MP. It came with the adapter kit with a new cubby hole, the wiring harness, and the instuctions for taking the dash apart. Mine went in real easy, although we spliced wires together. My dad wanted the stock MP3/CD player for his GMC truck, so we cut the wires.
To wrap this up, Crutchfield.com will let you select your vehicle, and only show you stuff that will fit. They do have a good selection. As I stated above, they will send you the harness that plugs into the car (the one that comes off the stock radio) and the instructions to wire the harness to the harness that goes to your new radio, the adapter kit that will give you a new cubby hole, and allow easy installation, and finally the instructions to take the dashboard apart. The harness, the adapter kit, and the instructions are all FREE! The only thing you pay is the cost of the radio and shipping.
Go for Crutchfield for your Speakers, and the stereo deck. They are the friendliest people and can help you with anything. You will be pleased. If you are willing to go for it, Private Message me and I will give you my referral code. You will get $20 off your first order of $200 or more. (I believe that is right).
