i was looking at the seats in a newer celica gt and the seats are really sweet for stock seats....do u think they would fit in the aveo? of course id have to make custom brackets and what not but I would really like to see if i could find a seat for cheaper than aftermarket seats

Anything can fit in nearly any car...with the right mods. I'm putting SRT-4 ACR seats in mine after I get it (trading off the Recaros for them).
The Celica GT seats are AWESOME!!! I love how comfortable, yet supportive they are. They'd be my second choice for "stock" seat swaps. I just prefer seats that have been crash tested in cars, over factory tested For cars...and stock seats have that reliability.
Just be careful when shopping for them not to get them from a car with heavy rearend damage, as this impacts the integrity of the seats alot (my Celica GT seat back recliner broke when I got rearended in my Cavalier).

NIce condition ones run about $250 each on ebay/junkyards...but having a friend at a junkyard, or buying them used and needing reupholstry can make them cheaper.

They are ALOT of padding...these are great sport seats that you can comfortably cruise in as well. If you are worried on weight as an issue I'd reccommend Aftermarket seats, or Honda S2000 (careful they are wide and sit low, I had them in my Cavalier for awhile as well, then swapped to the Celica GT seats).

The fabrication skills required to make a custom make seat bracket would be far more intensive than what any novice can handle. Hope your good at TIG welding. Also remember that in addition to seatbelts, seats are something you depend on to hold you in place during an accident. One company that I have delt with when I was building my Festiva was Scat. They make quality stuff and best of all, they can custom make brackets. www.procarbyscat.comYour welcome.
