does anyone know about swapping in a Daewoo Nubira (2L DOHC I4, 122CuIn, 129hp, 136tq) or a Leganza engine (2.2L DOHC I4, 134CuIn, 131hp, 148tq) into the aveo? Those would be decent gains over the Aveo's current engine if it'll drop in and bolt to the tranny. I did some research and found out the Chevy Cavy engine wont work without an insane amount of work So does anyone know about the Nubira/Leganza potenitol swaps?

theres an engine that will bolt up to the aveos transmission....its the 2.0L engine from the suzuki forenza/chevy optra/reno. i forget the engine code right now, but hopefully this will be the engine I will try and get in my aveo. with CAI, lightened pully, and full exhaust you can get 130+wheel hp...search around the threads theres a few with this topic in it.

Yes Aveosam is correct. In theory this should work. The forenza uses the 2L also uses the same ECM as the Aveo, just tuned for the 2L. If I find a 2L cheap enough I may try this.

i did a search for "engine swap" but didnt come up with crap so i decided to post, i do try to search and google as much as possible to avoid "repost" of topics
seems as the forenza might be a slighty different tuned engine then the Nubira because it's the same displacement and size, could this be the same?

could the forenza and nubira engines be the same engine since they both have almost the same power, but exactly the same displacement and Cubic Inches

They are the same engine. The forenza has the updated engine. just like the Lanos and Aveo. both have the same 1.6. The Aveo has the updated engine with the plastic manifold and redesigned head
