i say rebuild the motor and and do 20 psi turbo get u up to 250 or so and stick with that iam in the same cituation i use my car for daily use so i just want to be able to get it bit faster yet not lose it for a daily driversee but the thing is with a bigger engine like the u20sed, i dont need to boost as high as i would if i was using 1.6L....1.6L makes 105hp even when its opened up to breathe and theoretically once you hit 15psi you can double the engines out put, so thats 210hp. with the 2.0L you can make 140+ish hp when it is opened up and then once boosted to 15psi that makes 280+ hp which is exactly the range i want to be in and I dont have to go higher than 15psi...rebuilding the motor would cause the car to be off the road and i cant do that with my red one i need it to get to college plus if something goes wrong with my red aveo for example engines blows from boosting I am f*cked for a car and warranty will be screwed. now with a junkyard aveo, oops blew then engine, ok lets just let it sit in my pole barn slash garage til i figure out what to do, either new motor or quit and I can keep driving my red aveo with full warranty....now parts-wise there are more parts available for the 2.0L and there is a better chance that aftermarket will make parts for a 140ish hp 2.0L than a 105ish 1.6L.....
some more parts i could use:
360 U/D pulley
Lightened flywheel (kinkyllama has one and its about half weight of stock)
arp con rod bolts
bigger injectors 42 lbs/hr
walbro 100lbs/ hr fuel pump
2.5" custom exhaust
