Im more of a mazda guy so bare with me
What GM engine and auto tranny combos (at least v6 and fwd) will fit in our engine bays but let us retain the accessories (a/c, p/s, etc) and FYI the US aveos specs are dohc I4 1.6L 98CuIn.
I was thinking these: 1990-96 Pontiac Grand Prix turbo ohv v6 3.1L 191CuIn. dohc v6 3.4L 207CuIn.
1995-2001 Chevy Lumina/Monte Carlo ohv v6 3.8L 231CuIn.
2005 pontiac g6 ohv v6 3.5L 213 CuIn.
and yes i know if one was ever to attempt any of these swaps they would need custom mounts, wiring, axles, blah blah blah, im just wondering at fitment issues and retaining accessories

All I can say is good luck squeezing a v6 in our engine bay. As much of cost it would to fit, you could get a turbo plus weigh a lot less and have the same power levels

I agree with brian a V6 3.8L barely fit in a cavalier so foget it into an aveo I'd say the most logic choice would be an ecotec or the supercharged of the cobalt SS(then swap the supercharger for a turbo if there's enough place )

My roomate has a Cobalt SS (non SC, the 2.4L) and i was looking closely at the engine the other day and it should fit into our bay, of course money wise that's another story
