now i've never been into vehicles with airbag suspensions, (except some street trucks) i figure for a import, run coilovers. but the only coilovers for the aveo are the $4k+ proflex race setup, which i'm sure would be awesome, but they really are overkill and too pricey at the moment. i drive the 07 daily, and the idea of running cut H&R's keeps bugging me, i know the way i drive i'll be hitting the bumpstops a ton and scraping the undercarriage all the time. plus it will probably ride like a lumber wagon. but i dont want to put wheels on till i know i can have the car sitting just right. if a airbag system is done right it can handle very well, better i'm assuming then a stock aveo. plus i can adjust the ride height from inside the car, which will be extremely helpful. and when i'm just cruising i can drop it nice and low and slam it when i park it i know i will need a system that has valves for all four corners of the car so the air doesnt transfer from side to side or front to back when cornering or accel/decel. i sent an email to easy street (the people that made the system for that blue aveo that has those pocket bikes in the back.) they said they have a system that works for the aveo with just some minor mods( they said it took about 6 hours to install in the aveo) anyway i was just wondering if anyone has had a air bagged vehicle and how did it ride/corner? and opinions are welcome, good or bad. ;D i just want my car to stay comfortable and daily drivable while looking great

The only problem with airbag sets ups is that they really aren't made for daily drivers. Good luck to you though in finding the right setup for you.

WRONG! you need to check out horsepower tv sometime. They did a newer camaro on bags, actully improved tha handling, and it was a more comfortable ride.

i figure that if its a good system it will be reliable, and i know alot of the vw/euro guys over in europe run airbags, they says its more practical for a daily driver. i know it would be comfy, and as far as handling, praxxis? (sp) makes a airbag system for the wrx and sport compact car is running it on their project sti, the handling numbers are almost exactly on par with their project evo.... i know some systems handle bad because the air can transfer from side to side and that would make for a sucky ride with tons of body rol, but if its valved in all corners it should stay nice and flat right?

question: if you had a hatch where would you put the compressor? could get quite loud.

I have known a few people with airbags and they had issues with them when they were daily drivers. Besides, like Kirby said, where would you put the compressor? In your trunk? There goes your sub setup.

You can run airbags as daily drivers... Look at Transport trucks on the road, they all have airbags now.
As to where to put the compressor, I'm sure there is a good spot somewhere on the car other than the cargo area. If you don't have a AC, make a braket and find a compressor that you mount there and run off the belt... But I don't know if those exist...

The airride system is a far cry different from a passenger vehicle setup.
A friend's boyfriend had airbags on his grandam... it's road holding ability was shot to hell, handling was orange juicety, and it road like crap.
He was a jackass, so I couldn't tell you if it was just a junk system, junk install, or junk car.

A lot of off roaders have onboard air compressers. They run them off the engine. Here is an example. I quickly skimmed it, so it may not be the greatest information. www.huv.com/jon/jeep/Air/index.htmlMy only though is what size tank would you need to work proper and not take up the back of the car. Hope this is a step in the helpful direction. Ryan
