I'm lowered with Apex but i want it to be a little lower (.5 to 1 inch about) Whats the best way to do this. I thought of having the coils cut a little bit, but how much would i have to cut and where? Thanks!

Thanks! just be careful because on the the driver side theres a motor mount bolt sticking thru and if you go lower you might run the chance of putting that bolt thru your tire if you hit a bump

with the aveo setup you can cut exactly one coil at a time and still have it seat correctly. make sense?

yea but all that extra stress will go to the wheels and you will have more chance of bending them...how far does one coil off lower it?

one coil lowered it less than an inch I'd say. I didn't measure it before and after. The back seems to sit a little bit lower than the front now which i didn't think the back would lower at all. I could probably cut one more off the front to make the car actually look lowered, but my ride quality might suffer. Even now the struts/shocks are too soft for the springs. KYB needs to hurry up and release some shocks

with the cut spring are you worried that it might hop the mount or is the stock shock or strut travel shorter than the maximum spring extension?

with the cut spring are you worried that it might hop the mount or is the stock shock or strut travel shorter than the maximum spring extension? Even with a coil cut off, you still have to compress the springs to get them on the strut. The rear is the same way even though it's not a coilover type design. The top of the springs don't flatten out like most cars, instead the spring seat is shaped for the spring. That said, the spring seat's VERY close to how it did from the factory. This is why you must cut exactly one coil at a time so everything goes together and it won't know the difference. I have noticed more bounce in the rear of the car since lowering it, especially if there is over 200 extra pounds in the car. New struts would fix it, but until KYB releases something there is not much I can do. Chad

You cut them from the bottom or from the top of the spring?
