I thing the bigger the better for looks alone. If you want to be the fastest possible then yeah stay small and as light as possible. I have the stock steel wheels with hubcaps and the best winter tires, Hakkapalitta "Q"s for winter and the eighteens for the summer in Perrelli rubber. I guess it all comes down to personal preference.

ok well if you have the LT model (which min eis) your wheels are P185/55R15 if you just have the LS or that 'special value model' (which i think is onyl canadian am i right?) P185/60R14 all 4X100 b.p. try this... www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.aspI think the best selection is 205/40/16

I looking to see if anyone ALREADY has this combo and if is works (with almost NO rubbing): H&R Springs and 16x7.5 (215/45-16) or (205/50-16). I know I'm shooting high here but... its what I want.
I know plenty of posts are similar to this but everyone is going to or will probally work, does anyone actually right now have this combo?

I'm alot lower than H&R (cut coils) with 205-40-16s with a 38mm offset which puts them alot closer to the wheel lips and have no rubbing. Plus I'm going lower this weekend. Maybe 1/2".

Right on, its hard to get a straight awnser from people sometimes.. everyone is gonna do it and SHOULDN'T have a problem ya know. Do you ever bottom out or hit the road, speed bumps maybe while driving quick?

well first you gotta figure out what you want your car to do. if you want your car to be a sound car with all show and no go then you'll pick a 16" and up application for it. If you want to lighten up your aveo and make it go faster and still have some handles than you'll go with a 14 or a 15. heres why...the bigger the rim the larger the rotating mass. rims and tires get heavier the bigger and wider they get. the aveo only has 103 hp stock...pulling all that xtra weight will make you feel like your tugging a boat. Now I just put 15s on my mine and had to take the spare tire and tools outta the compartment in the back to even out the weight cos the rims are about 4-6lbs heavier per wheel. its also a general rule not to get wheels more than 2 sizes bigger than stock...that would make the highest safest size 16. if your aveo is lowered with rims you do not want bump stops...very bad for your motor mounts and your engine along with the rest of your suspension and all. If you want your car to be eating oil prematurely bump stopping is a sure fire way to have that happen.

Whoa man, where did you get your info? Bumpstops are a good thing they where put there for a reason. I know what I want to do and the size/result differences in performance, I just havent tried out the springs yet, and am not sure what to expect... Does anyone know the stock spring rate for the 05' SVM hatch? USDM

WZUP every1!! i currently have 17's (and i love em), but has anyone GONE BOLD?? Is there any aveos on 20" or bigger.. that would be awesome, im thinking of it one day in the future (like 5 yrs from now). They would prolly have to be offset. but jus for fun, i wanna see an aveo on 20"+ .. so start replying with picx if someone has 20"+ rims hanging around. Oh and by the way, unless you are racing, don't go less than 17", cuz big rims is FIYA! iight ttyl. ;D

So..the bolt patern is 4X100, but what should I go with if I wanted to do 17's? What size tires should I get that provide a smoother ride? I don't want super thin tires.
