i am having some problems finding a fabric that is resitant to heat so i can wrap my homemade heat sheild in it. unless there is another option that you ppl can think of i am open to your opinions. you can check out my little heat sheild on my car domain site.

look in a home supply store. They wrap water heaters with the stuff you are looking for

I have pipe insulation on my intake and it works great. Can find it for $8/50' at lowes/home depot.

Header wrap works better. I used the fiberglass wrap from Home Depot. Looked like crap. header wrap works much better and looks better.

you cant really wrap thin sheet aluminum with header wrap, hence the foilish pad insulation recommendation
