Not really a full fledged how-to, just a bit of info. Just for giggles tonight at work I cut down the shifter. Granted, its not a true "Short shifter" but neither is the one from 360. I plan on buying the 360 shifter just for the reverse pull. I started by doing the boiling water trick on the knob which took like a half hour. Once I got the knob off, I pulled the lockout sleeve off. I took my handy-dandy Dremel and cut the sleeve down to where the shiftboot rest. Then I moved on to the rod. I cut 2 1/2" (give or take) off the top. Slid the sleeve back on. Put the spring on. I cut the little lip off the bottom of the shift knob off and slid it back on the shaft and took a rubber mallet and tapped it on. Reinstalled it and slid the boot on. Zip-tied it and considered it done. Got full lockout function and it shifts alot shorter. I have a pic on cardomain I took @ 11:45 tonight so its a little dark. If someone wants to cut and paste it here thats fine, I have no clue how to. This was free, presentable, and works. www.cardomain.com/ride/2216328

watch out, you might fall into the grand canyon there. Time for a new boot I think!

I kinda like the sunken boot look. The less I have to spend on pretty stuff I don't need, the more I have to spend on go-fast pieces. Or should I say, fabricate go-fast pieces since no one makes any.

Thanks! Just from personal experience of having both the 05 and 06, the 06 feels tighter in steering and ride. The 05 has 5K and the 06 has 250miles, so not enough to really loosen the 05. Might just be my imagination. 2mm diference in the sway bar can't change it that much. Or can it?

if you cut the plastic piece down some, you can shorten it even more. mine is down like 3'' or 31/4'' or something like that. What did you make the knob out of? it looks pretty nice

its short enough like this...im tall and I dont want to have to stretch my arm too much to get to it the knob is made of body filler over the original knob and a lil tip of pvc tubing to hide the spring
