Yeah the plastics in our car suck. I bought a good deck a while back and I was gonna install it myself, but I got free installation w/ the deck and decided I'd be lazy. When I got the car back there were scratches all over the dash from where the installer had tried to pry off the panels around the deck and it wasn't even put in straight. Had to redo the whole thing myself.... the right way.

I know this is an older post but I just learned how to post pics and I been wanting to show how I mounted my radio. I had it the right way at first but I didnt like it. I fliped the mount and now it looks better and its a more comfortable reach to the radio, (if im not being too lazy to use the remote).

The radio isnt upside down, just the dash kit. So the pocket sits on the top.

Go to your local audio shop or Best Buy and buy a wiring harness and mounting kit for it. It will be about $30-40 USD total (I forget what it actually cost me). and very simple to do if you follow the directions above.

ok i went out to my car and tried desperatly to pop the side plastic peices off, but could not do it. They would bend so much that it looked like they were going to break in half.
how eaxactly did you pry them, from the outside? inside? bottom, top?
also i work at circuit city and have asked the roadshop guys several times which harness and such it uses without a real answer yet.

start at the very bottom....where there is a curved point, and stick a flat-head screw driver with rags to try and pry it.....like in the 3rd picture down at the top
