hey guys,
im glad that holden barinas are finally being recognized. I thought i might put in some fotos of my barina which ive had for about 1.5 years. over this time ive made very simple and subtle changes all of which have been DIY (excluding wiring which i wasnt brave enuf to experiment myself)
heres the front view of my car. what ive donehere is attached eyelids made from vinyl which i picked up from a sign shop. cut em out carefully and stuck em on ... looks aggressive to me~. Also put in foglamps - brand pia. got em off ebay and mounted it myself. the wiring done by a dude at strathfield car radios. also added a strip of chrome vinyl on the grille on either side of the holden badge - adds that extra $$ look. and althoughu cant see but i put in 4200K phillips globes for the headlights which gets rid of the crappy yellow stock lights.
Ive put in a sound system with pioneer deck and speakers for the rear, sony amp under passenger seat, and jbl sub in my boot. being a small car i need the boot space so i removed the spare tyre and made a speicaly measured sub box and put it in the area of the spare tyre. i then hid it under a layer of carpet with a hole just above the sub to see all the doof doof action
my dash gauge thingy looked boring so i spray painted carefully cut out plastic with chrome and attached it. looks cool from far but from up close theres imperfections but it will do for now.
sony speakers for the front. does the job. u've proly noticed i mixed brands for my audio system ... never planned it to happen that way but all still works.
this is where night driving becomes fun ... neons here hooked up via 12v ciggy. Oh and lets not forget the metal pedal covers.
recently ive started to play with fibreglass and to experiment on how to use it i made a thin fibreglass plate - then cut it to shape with a dremel and sanded it ... yep ... with a dremel. i tell ya its the best tool a man can have. sanded it further, primed it and chromed it. then glued it to the rear of the car. and for those internationals .... the "s" badge is usually attached to the holden commodore s pak. the s pak commodore is basically an ordinary commodore with a sports pack that makes it look like the commodore SS which is of course the sports version of the ordinary commodore. So .... S on the barina .... Barina sports ... u get the idea. ... well it looks cool to me.
heres the s badge attached to the rear ... cool aye?
also added chrome rings around the brake light. i was too cheap to buy proper shoke/chrome taillight so i went for the 5 dollar alternative ^^ ... gimme a break
Oh and i put in an exhaust but have no pics.
current projects on the way
parcel shelf made from fibreglass with speaker moulds subtly facing towards the front / centre of the car and also with screen between the moulds for some lighting effects.
this is only the frame of it .... plz note the speaker moulds in this pic are facing the rong way ... but ive fixed that up and ive fibreglass it .... pics to come later.
also a set of wheels to come in a few months .... when i save money.
all this from a uni student with no money but with big imagination. done well havent i?
sorry about quality of fotos ... bad lighting, bad fone camera
