Okay, so I've been talking to a few people, again, and have found someone that specializes in putting together bolt-on kits for overlooked domestics.
He is offering the following options for a Turbo Kit for the Aveos.
Stage 2 (app. 50 HP) at $2300 Stage 3 (app. 90 HP) at $2800
featuring a GReddy Type S BOV, Tiel Ext. Wastegate, exhaust manifolds, aluminum tubing with silicone couplers. Stage 3 includes FMU and Injectors (more added as I get the information)
This is a NO MARKUP price to me, passed directly on to you. I'm not doing this for personal gain, simply trying to help (as I won't be going turbo myself, I don't NEED this setup).
Also needed will be a test fit vehicle in or near the Orlando Florida area. Contact me via PM if you live near there.

any internal work? ex. pistons...also question about stainless piping....does everyone use stainless and is it possible to use aluminum instead?

Most use stainless because you get a good quality finish with it, but I can ask if he'll use aluminum, shouldn't be a problem.
As for internals, these kits are designed to bolt-on to a stock (no internals) engine, so anything you do to build-up the internals I'm guessing would only help.

yea well im wondering if get enough psi to get 90 horsepower and not have you intake manifold go boom....im going to try and run 7-8 psi and that will probably only get me to 150-160 hp

Does that include fuel managment/ECM tuning, fuel supply( pump, injectors) or is it just a turbo and manifold and piping?

You mentioned the easy parts, but what about timing and fuel? How is that being addressed? Also with such a low PSI kit, why even go with an external TIAL wastegate when an internal would make for smaller packaging.
What about running the intercooler piping, would any cutting be required? Where would the intercooler mount?

We are trying to find out if there is an interest in putting all these questions into the R&D phase, so as of now he hasn't designed the setup, we're gauging to see if designing one would be worth it to produce.
So keep the questions coming and I'll have him address them for us all.
He still need an Aveo volunteer in the FL area for some R&D, so who ever is closest get ahold of me.

It would be nice to get a real turbo bolt on kit with ecu modifications included, might be really interested in that

yea the only problem is that all turbo kits are so darn expensive compared to building your own that I am afraid it deters alot of people

True, but not everyone has the technical training or mechanical knowledge to make their own, so this is a good alternative for those people.

if that car hits a large bump, the first thing to go is his intake and charge pipes... that would suck!
I would like to see a picture of a turbokit installed on an Aveo. As for interest, there are simply not enough Aveo people to make producing a turbo kit worthwhile. It might be worth it though to produce turbo parts such as the exhaust manifold and FMIC piping.

Chad +1....it would be smarter to produce those parts especially the turbo manifold....piping, intercooler, turbo and fuel mods are easier to come by because most of this stuff is universal but manifold is engine specific
