My girlfriend has a 2007 Victory Red Aveo. She hit a pothole and bent two rims not to mention her tires are worn out. Its almost christmas so im like how about we get you a new pair of shoes. She picked out a MSW type 11 wheels machined with black accent 16x7" wheel. Originally i recommend a dunlop grand touring tire 205/55/16 because she cares more about ride and noise then drag racing or autocrossing. Tire rack threw a fit and told her those tires will not fit what so ever. I looked at cardomain and saw numerous aveo's with 17 and 18" wheels running like 205/45/17 or 18 I used a tire size calculator and figured a 205/50/16 is about 24" in total diameter. I think it should be snug but fit without a problem, what do you guys think? Found this website from this really sharp orange aveo: www.cardomain.com/ride/833143

Are you sure they didn't mean that the bead on the tire would not properly fit the rim width? just a thought. As far as aftermarket wheels go... I also see various aveos with 17" s and up.

as far as wheels go... plus sizes are.. 16 inch = 215/40R16 17 = 215/35R17. as long as you keep the offset around 43 (stock offset) you shouldn't have any rubbing or other issues. any wider or higher aspect ration will not be safe however.
