MegaSquirt, Emanage sucks, with Megasquirt you can build it the way you want to. i am running this on the Aveo, and i Ran it on my Escort GTX-T(hybrid)

everyone do a search on google for megasquirt. I would recommend the E-Manage over the Megasquirt. The reason being turbo compatibility. You can use the voltage clamp built into the e-manage so your car doesn't freak over boost. The software is actually pretty easy to use after a few hours of using it. I figured it out in just a few minutes and now I pretty well have it mastered. The fueling maps in E-Manage are top notch, it even allows you to run bigger injectors. I know the Megasquirt can do all the fueling stuff, but when you add a turbo and need to pull 10 degrees of timing, the e-manage is actually capable of doing so. I have actually been able to run up to 17psi with no detonation on my Subie. Realize it did not come with a turbo stock, it's the E-manage that is pulling timing at higher boost, adding fuel where needed, clamping my airflow voltage so it doesn't freak out when I max out the airflow meter, pulling fuel at idle to make up for the upgraded injectors (220cc up to 370cc). It also makes for a great troubleshooting tool since I'm able to log all my data points such as airflow voltage, throttle position, injector duty cycle, etc. For $300 it's friggin amazing, I have a little write up on it on my site. Chad the Megasquirt is a standalone, it does everything. I'm going N/A for now so the boost problem I won't need to worry about.

It's to help with other mods. Yeah you can increase a little power by adjusting timing and fuel, but you still need to do cams and exhaust. to make it all work together.

The car is already fuel injected and the factory has done a lot of work to make the fuel maps so good. Why take all that away with the MS? The E-Manage will give you good stock driveability and you can add on to it in the upper power levels which the factory never really expected you would get. It's also fairly simple to hook up with only the timing wires to cut (if you do the timing harness), MAP wires to cut, and some splicing into the RPM signal, injector signal, and TPS. The ultimate even has support for a wideband. If the car was an old VOLVO, VW, or carby, then the MS is the ticket. I just don't think it has a place on a new car when the E-Manage is so cheap, user friendly and well built. I almost went the MS route, but when the E-manage came out, I got it instead. Now I'm glad I did. There is no way the MS would have supported the 15psi I'm currently running and have no detonation. I have to pull up to 16 degrees of timing to support the boost. I think you might be referring to the aquamist which F-Max produces... at least they used to. I considered it when I first added boost.

E-Manage does not SUCK, I have personal installed several of them in other Japanese cars and they work perfectly and pretty easy to tune. People online just automatically say Megasquirt because it cheaper on the surface and its pretty much DYI.
The only advantage to the Megaaquirt is you can use the Neon OEM crank trigger to fire the coils and it will wire up to any GM car that uses standard GM sensors.
That being said the Aveo is Daweoo, not a GM car.
I would use the E-manage as you can get it for less than a pre-fab'ed Megasquirt and the E-manage Ulimate is even better than the standard unit.
Either way both are effective, but the E-manage does NOT suck.
