i am planning on getting a full custom borla exhaust ( 2 1/4 pipes going to a kamikazie hi flow and back to a 4 1/2 opening muffler, borla pipes and borla muffler) which header would be better for this set up the 4-1 or the 4-2-1?

the one mentioned in this thread is 4-1, but 4-1 is good for hp and 4-2-1 is good for torque...so really it is which ever you prefer

I think it really depends on the engine. If you slap a huge 4-1 on a low displacement engine, you'll probably notice a loss of power all throughout the rpm range. The engine just can't put out that much exhaust.
4-1 from what I understand is mostly ideal for high boost situations. To clarify, it actually increases torque... in the high end.
A good 4-2-1 (again, from my understanding) is a good compromise. Gains throughout the whole operating range. I believe this can be limiting if you're running a huge charger with rediculous amounts of boost, though.
I'm all for totally leaving HP out of the equation. Without torque you don't have HP. If I remember the equation properly, an engine capable of making 60lb-ft of torque at 10,000rpms is equivilent to about 120hp.
The torque band and the operating range of the engine is the deciding factor.

Well Finally installed it . I am very pleased. A little more raspy, a pop here and there. And you can tell when I'm getting on it. As for power, I know this is what you are waiting for. You have to remember that I have a full CAI and U/D pulley. But with this header lets just say I uncorked the motor. I did not, repeat DID NOT loose any torque, feels the same, but when that VGIS opens at 4k look out she moves, pulls hard. I already had a Honda civic hatch it was mid 90's or something trying to race me. I let him in front then hammered it, I pullled a car and a half on him, even with his VTEC kicked it. This was on a city street. On the Highway it's better. Just say I pulled to 90 in 3rd very fast went to 4th pulled to 110 good but then let off. The car is a lot more reponsive. The little hesitation with the engine when you rev is gone. Again I am very pleased. I would recomend to anyone that want s to tune the Aveo.

That's awsome, congrats on the install. I wish they made some that would bolt on with no extra mods.

It would be nice to see a current dyno pull though, Hopefully you are getting more than 105 to the wheels.

Don't buy headers since they would have to be replaced when you get a new turbo manifold. Chad
