autozone is a bunch of idiots, i dont know how many times they've messed things up for me. I guess I could always go to NAPA, Orielys, or Advanced

well autozone was more of a help, they found plugs that are OE replacements but had a hard time figuring out which ones were colder, eventually we got to these Autolite Platinum AP985

I never had a problem with them, at least with normal use.

With spark plugs.... the number 6 in the BKR6ES would usually indicate the heat range.
The lower the number the hotter it is.... and conversly the higher the number the colder.
So from what i gather... the BKR7ES-11 would be 1 range cooler and the BKR8ES-11 would be two ranges cooler..... I'm not even sure if they make an "8".... the part number didn't come up.
I'd suggest buying a BKR7ES-11 and then compare it to your BKR6ES-11 just to make sure.
Also gapping is important.... usually a gap around 0.044 is good for stock engines but if your running a turbo you need to drop that gap down into the range of 0.025 to 0.030 to ensure that you won't be misfiring under heavy load and lots of boost.

I'm going to make you guys happy...... the Aveo/Lanos use the same plugs as a 1999 Honda Civic SI ( B16A2 ) so there should be a very good selection of plugs for the Aveo.

you overlooked 1 major part.... colder spark plugs and a closer gap to prevent spark blowout.

chances are since it uses a honda plug there is more of a chance to find a colder plug, like zex hyperformance!
